Microsoft Outlook Express 6 Setup
(comes with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 6)

Open Outlook Express, then go to the Tools menu and select Accounts...

The Internet Accounts dialog box will appear. Click on the Add button, then click Mail... to start the Wizard which will walk you through the process of adding your new email account. If there are other accounts still in the list, you may remove them if you are no longer using them by selecting the account you wish to remove and clicking Remove.

The first step is to enter your Display name, which will be displayed when other people read mail from you. You may use periods, spaces, and capital letters. Click Next > when you have entered your name.

Next, you will need to enter your JVLNET email address. Your address will look like username@jvlnet.com. Enter your address into the Email address box, then click Next >

Thirdly, you will need to enter JVLNET's email server information. Leave the incoming mail server type box set to POP3 at the top, then put in mail.jvlnet.com into both the Incoming mail server and Outgoing mail server boxes. Click Next > when you have finished entering the mail servers.

On the next page, your username should already appear in lowercase letters in the Account name box. If it doesn't appear, or is incorrect, make the changes necessary to fix it now. Then, enter your password into the Password field†. You may mark Remember password if you wish. Click Next > when you have entered all the information correctly.

†Please note that your password will not be shown as you type it; only "*" or "" characters are shown as placeholders for the characters that you type.

Finally, to complete the Wizard, click Finish on the final page. You will then be taken back to the Internet Accounts dialog box.

When the Internet Accounts dialog box appears again, click the Close button in the lower-right corner of the dialog.

Finally, once you are connected to the Internet, click the Send/Receive button on the Outlook Express toolbar to retrieve any messages waiting for you on JVLNET's server.
